Job summary

The City of San Clemente is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Specialist I/II to perform skilled maintenance and repair work on City buildings, facilities, pools, and related structures in a hands-on role. You will handle carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, painting, and aquatic facility tasks, ensuring spaces are safe, welcoming, and ready for use by staff and the public.

Ideal candidates bring experience in one or more trades, enjoy practical problem solving, and can manage multiple tasks

Qualifications

• Two years of skilled maintenance experience in carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, or aquatic facilities.
• Three years of skilled maintenance experience for Specialist II.

Responsibilities

• Perform skilled maintenance and repair work on City buildings and structures
• Complete carpentry, plumbing, painting, HVAC, minor electrical, and general facility repairs
• Inspect aquatic facilities and pools and perform pool maintenance
• Set up meeting rooms and City facilities for programs, meetings, and events
• Estimate materials, equipment, and time for assigned work
