Job summary

Walmart's Battle Creek facility is seeking a General Facilities Maintenance Technician to diagnose and repair commercial food equipment, perform preventative maintenance, and train store associates on equipment care and cleaning.

As a General Facilities Maintenance Technician, you will follow maintenance schedules, inspect and repair facilities and fixtures, and ensure safety and high performance of all equipment in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• 18 years or older.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Can lift up to 50 lbs. at a time.
• Can move up and down ladders frequently.
• Comfortable working at heights frequently.
• Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Vocational or Technical certification and 1 year experience, or 2 years total work experience, in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related trade.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair Walmart facilities, equipment, and assets across multiple crafts.
• Use work order system to receive and document repair activities.
• Provide prompt response to emergency maintenance calls.
• Inspect and diagnose facilities, equipment, or fixtures.
• Complete required training to operate equipment and tools safely.
