Job summary

Compass Counseling Services of NOVA seeks master's level mental health therapists to join our Multisystemic Therapy (MST) program in Virginia. You will provide direct clinical treatment, conduct thorough assessments, and collaborate with families, schools, and support networks to create lasting change using evidence-based practices.

You will work with youth ages 11–17 and their families, with ongoing MST training, supervision, and opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

• Master's degree required and licensure-eligibility preferred in Virginia.
• Spanish-speaking or ability to engage diverse populations is valued.
• Experience with community-based, evidence-based practices is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct clinical treatment following MST principles, emphasizing strengths, behavior patterns, and increased mature behavior.
• Conduct thorough assessments of client and family strengths, concerns, and ecological factors to guide case conceptualization.
• Engage caregivers, family members, supports, schools, probation, and child welfare in change-focused treatment.
• Participate in weekly case planning and progress evaluation with team and supervisor support.
• Receive ongoing MST training, supervision, and professional development to build advanced clinical skills.
• Ensure clients have access to 24/7 crisis support in coordination with the clinical team.

MST therapists receive ongoing training in the MST model and work closely with youth ages 11–17, their families, and their broader support networks. As an MST Therapist with Compass you will:

Compensation of an MST Therapist at Compass:

• Starting salary - $55,000-$60,000 per year (75 billable hour requirement/month)
• $65/hour for any hours billed over monthly billing requirement (unlimited earning potential)
• Mileage, supplies, and cell phone reimbursement

Education, Experience, & Other Requirements:

Required: Master's Degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, Criminal Justice, Forensic Psychology, or Human Services area; valid driver's license with at least 1 year driving history and good driving record; availability during afternoons and evenings

Preferred: Eligible for residency in Virginia (we offer free residency supervision for LPC and LCSW residents); Spanish-speaking; skilled in collaborating with community agencies and experience providing in-home or community-based services.
