Job summary

TBS Companies in Vernon, AL is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to perform mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic repairs, preventative maintenance, and new installations in an industrial setting.

The role requires experience, the ability to work independently, read diagrams, use a multimeter, and adhere to lock-out-tag-out safety practices; you will operate a forklift, meet physical demands, and maintain documentation.

Qualifications

• One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Prior experience operating a caliper; PLC and troubleshooting abilities necessary.
• Welding accreditation certificate is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Complete daily work logs and close out Work requests and PM’s using maintenance software.
• Respond to radio calls regarding facilities issues or machine breakdowns.
• Safely operate a forklift.
• Work with electricity up to 480 volts, run new lines, troubleshoot, change fuses, etc.
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues independently (e.g., gear box, sprocket and chain, dies and punches).
• Troubleshoot and replace hydraulic and pneumatic components (cylinders, accumulators, valves).
• Complete facility assignments (plumbing toilets, cleaning, snow removal, gutters, drains, salting ice).
• Work safely at heights.
• Use multimeter for electrical projects; follow lock-out-tag-out procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.
