Job summary

AZZ Inc. in Winsted, Minnesota, is seeking a Maintenance Helper for 1st shift to perform maintenance across plumbing, electrical, welding, and machining areas at our facility.

You will report to the Plant Manager and help keep production running by servicing equipment, diagnosing issues, and performing preventive maintenance as needed. Training is available for candidates with limited experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 6 months to 1 year related maintenance experience preferred; willing to train.
• Knowledge of galvanizing, steel fabrication or other metal coating operations preferred.
• Experience with HV 480 electricity, cranes, hoists, and forklifts strongly preferred.
• Must be capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Repairs, replaces, and reassembles defective equipment parts using hand and power tools.
• Performs routine preventive maintenance on equipment and buildings.
• Diagnoses mechanical problems and determines how to correct them.
• Operates cutting torches or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts.
• Will work in a production role as necessary during maintenance slowdowns.
