Job summary

AZZ Inc. Canton East facility is seeking a Maintenance Technician for 1st shift. Reporting to the Plant Manager, you will perform maintenance services including preventive maintenance, basic plumbing and electrical work, welding, and machine servicing.

The role emphasizes hands-on repair, safe operation of tools, and keeping a clean, organized shop. Qualified candidates have 6 months to 1 year of related experience, welding/fabrication skills, and a willingness to learn new skills.

Qualifications

• 6 months to 1-year related experience required.
• Knowledge of hot dip galvanizing, steel fabrication or other custom metal coating operations is a plus.
• Welding/Fabrication experience preferred.
• Experience with electrical systems, cranes, hoists, and forklifts preferred.
• Must be capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Willingness to learn new skills is a must!

Responsibilities

• Repairs, replaces, and reassembles defective equipment parts using hand and power tools.
• Performs routine preventive maintenance on equipment and buildings.
• Diagnoses mechanical and electrical problems and determines how to correct them.
• Operates cutting torches or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts.
• Maintain a clean and organized shop area.
