Job summary

Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo is seeking a Maintenance Specialist II for our North Campus. The role covers emergency, routine, and preventative maintenance across HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and related trades.

You will document work, supervise contractors, and prioritize tasks to uphold life safety standards. Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, 3–5 years in maintenance with HVAC/refrigeration certification preferred, and be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or GED.
• 3-5 years experience and/or HVAC and refrigeration certification preferred.
• Demonstrated mechanical skills.
• Reading, writing and following written and verbal instructions.
• Understanding and operating diagnostic testing equipment required.
• Experience with physically demanding work (up to 50 lbs).
• Must drive to sites and pass MVR check; proof of auto insurance required.

Responsibilities

• Performs emergency, routine, and preventative maintenance in carpentry, locksmith, electrical, HVAC, and mechanical areas.
• Documents work performed and maintains records.
• Supervise all contractors on site and coordinate with management on safety and inspections.
• Prioritize maintenance tasks to meet life safety standards and regulatory inspections.
• Work with Manager to ensure clean reports and licensing; communicate issues and improvements.
