Job summary

Avient Corporation in Kennesaw, GA is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform planned and corrective maintenance on electrical and mechanical systems to minimize downtime and keep production running.

You will troubleshoot, repair, and maintain equipment, while ensuring safety standards and compliance. A 4–5 year apprenticeship or a 2-year electrical degree is preferred, with 3+ years in manufacturing and 460V experience. OT may be required. Avient offers competitive pay and strong benefits.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• 4–5 year traditional apprenticeship or 2-year associate degree in electrical technology, electromechanical systems, or related field highly preferred.
• 3+ years of work experience in a manufacturing environment, highly preferred.
• 3+ years of work experience with 460V electrical experience required.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, or procedure manuals.
• Demonstrated mathematical skills for unit conversions and basic computations.

Responsibilities

• Completes maintenance projects with minimal guidance and a proactive approach to minimize downtime and production loss.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, and overhaul electrical and mechanical assemblies (pumps, conveyors, motors, compressors).
• Lay out, wire, and connect control panels and electrical components per blueprints.
• Test circuits using multimeters and diagnostic software to isolate faults.
• Assist with PLC troubleshooting and electromechanical components.
• Install or modify hydraulic and pneumatic equipment as needed.
• Contribute to reliability improvements and preventive maintenance culture.
• Operate PIVs such as forklifts and aerial work platforms as required.
• Update jobs in CMMS and maintain maintenance records and logs.
• Maintain departmental housekeeping and safety compliance.
