Job summary

The Canaveral Port Authority is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician to perform general maintenance and repair across CPA facilities. The role reports to the Facilities Manager and requires hands-on competence in carpentry, painting, masonry, plumbing, electrical work, and preventative maintenance.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or GED and at least four years of experience in a commercial maintenance or construction setting.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years hands‑on experience in a commercial facilities maintenance or construction environment.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Respond to customer requests with timely, professional resolution.
• Perform carpentry duties including railing, drywall, door and frame installations.
• Repaint interior and exterior surfaces after proper prep work.
• Repair concrete, sidewalks, and roadways; patch and resurfacing as needed.
• Install and maintain flooring, tiling, fencing, and related components.
• Diagnose and repair basic mechanical/electrical issues (lock systems, lighting).
• Complete work orders and maintenance documentation.
• Follow preventative maintenance procedures for buildings and utilities.
