Job summary

City of Parkland is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform a wide range of maintenance and repair tasks on City-owned facilities and infrastructure. Work includes carpentry, painting, plumbing, electrical, landscaping, and equipment operation.

On-the-job training and a laddering program allow advancement to Level II, III, or Equipment Operator with pay increases through years of service and certifications.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
• Must possess FEMA 100, 200, and 700 certifications, or the ability to obtain within the first six months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Performs semi-skilled carpentry, masonry, painting, plumbing and landscaping tasks in general maintenance of municipal facilities and property.
• Operates light trucks and other light power equipment and handles related devices.
• Responds to emergency calls and performs a variety of other related maintenance tasks.
