Job summary

Qualifications

• Must demonstrate a basic working knowledge of safety procedures.
• Must possess a basic working knowledge of plumbing maintenance and electrical maintenance.
• Ability to use power and hand tools safely and effectively.
• Basic soldering of copper pipe.
• Effective written and oral communication with staff and hospital personnel.
• Ability to read and interpret sketches, drawings, and technical manuals.
• Basic computer skills.
• Physically able to lift heavy loads, walk, stand for extended periods, and climb ladders.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic and routine repair, maintenance, and preventive maintenance on equipment to ensure safety and operability.
• Handle work requests promptly to address facility issues and needs.
• Own assigned tasks and ensure completion and customer satisfaction.
• Assist other Parkland staff with equipment use and repair; provide guidance and information to peers.
• Stay current with developments in repair and maintenance by attending seminars and reading publications.
• Suggest process improvements to enhance efficiency and customer satisfaction.
• Maintain positive relationships with management, patients, employees, contractors, and vendors.
