Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician to provide basic patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. You will support comfort, safety, and daily activities, performing technical and administrative tasks as trained.

The role emphasizes teamwork in a patient-care setting, with requirements for a High School Diploma, ability to read/write, and potential CNA/BLS prerequisites, including weekend/holiday shifts.

Qualifications

• Education/Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Ability to read/write and perform basic 4 function math
• Desire to help people and/or have aspirations of becoming a healthcare professional
• Basic computer skills (preferred)
• Medical terminology (preferred)
• Basic Life Support certification (BLS) required within 90 days of hire
• Certification/License: CNA Certification preferred but not required upon hire
• Every other weekend, every other holiday required

Responsibilities

• Vital Signs, Height and Weight, Oxygen Saturation; report unusual observations to the nurse
• Collect specimens for analysis and record intake/output
• Provide personal care and assist with daily activities
• Assist with meals and room service, set up meal trays and feeding
• Perform basic clinical procedures independently or under RN supervision
