Job summary

New Mexico Highlands University in Las Vegas, NM seeks a general maintenance employee to perform painting, carpentry, and grounds work to maintain a clean, safe environment for students, faculty, staff, and the community.

Position is temporary - full time with early start times and potential for evenings, weekends, and overtime. Requires a high school diploma or GED and at least one year of maintenance experience. Must have a NM driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum one year of paid maintenance related work.

Responsibilities

• Caulking, finish repair, mud and tape, texturing, sealing moldings and trim.
• Install windows, glass doors, ceilings, stair treads and paneling.
• Inspect interiors/exteriors and report repairs via work orders.
• Estimate and purchase materials as needed for tasks.
• Apply paint, sealers, and perform touchups on signage and curbs.
• Perform refinishing tasks on exterior and interior surfaces.
• Carry out finish carpentry, masonry, concrete work, and repairs.
