Job summary

East Liberty Family Health Care Center is seeking a Medical Records Clerk to maintain patient records, process records requests, and manage scans/uploads across four clinical sites in Pittsburgh’s East Liberty, Lincoln-Lemington, and Hill District neighborhoods. The role works with a team of on-site records staff.

The ideal candidate will have a GED or high school diploma, 1–3 years of medical office experience, and strong computer and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of medical terminology is preferred.
• Good computer skills.
• Good communication skills.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Process inbound faxes/ P2Ps/ EpicCare/ Healow/ hardcopy documents on time.
• Scan/upload documents into the correct patient chart.
• Process and follow-up on diagnostic orders (including prior authorizations).
• Process and follow-up on referrals to other health care providers.
• Electronically process and follow-up on patient record releases/requests as authorized and requested by patients, healthcare providers, insurance companies, attorneys, government agencies, etc.
