Job summary

Upperline Health Inc is seeking an energetic Medical Assistant to support physicians in a busy clinic setting. The role is based in Greenwood with travel to Indianapolis and Carmel clinics to assist with clinical and administrative tasks.

Ideal candidates have podiatry or orthopedic experience and X-ray skills, strong communication, and proficiency with Athenahealth EMR. Reliable transportation and teamwork are essential in this patient-centered, value-focused practice.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Medical Assistant preferred
• Podiatry or Orthopedic clinic experience preferred
• X-ray experience is a plus
• Clinical care coordination or care management experience is ideal
• Previous experience assisting or providing care to geriatric patients preferred
• Excellent computer skills and strong knowledge of medical terminology
• Experience with EMR; athenahealth preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Reliable transportation required
• Excellent oral and written communication skills

Responsibilities

• Place patients in exam rooms and prepare them for physician visits
• Complete exam intake review of medical histories and histories of present illness
• Take vitals and document in EMR (athenahealth)
• Assist podiatric physicians in the exam room and take X-rays as needed
• Perform daily administrative tasks such as restocking rooms and disposing of waste
• Clean and sterilize exam and X-ray rooms after each patient and daily
• Coordinate care via Upperline Plus patient visits and outreach
• Coordinate patient records requests, orders, referrals, and appointments
• Travel to surrounding clinics to provide support when needed
• Other duties as assigned by Upperline Health
