Job summary

UnitedHealth Group's OptumCare network seeks a Float Team Registered Nurse to support ASC sites in Houston. The RN provides preoperative, PACU, and endoscopy care, delivering high-quality patient care and collaborating with physicians, anesthesia, and staff.

This role requires ASN or higher, Texas RN license, BLS, ACLS, PALS, and at least 3 years in PACU/Pre-Op/Endoscopy with cross-training. The position offers full-time hours and pay between $29 and $52 per hour, with a comprehensive benefits

Qualifications

• ASN or higher nursing degree.
• Texas RN license; AHA BLS; ACLS; PALS.
• 3+ years RN in PACU, Pre-Op, or Endoscopy; 2+ years RN cross-functional experience in two out of three specialties: PACU, Pre Op, Endoscopy.
• Ability to travel between assigned ASC locations and work varied shifts.

Responsibilities

• Follows the standards of care related to the nursing process.
• Conducts nursing assessments, assists with exams and treatments, and maintains medical records.
• Communicates information effectively to physicians, anesthesia, management, staff, patients, families, and visitors.
• Takes part in preoperative call process and operates in line with ASPAN/AORN standards.
• Documents accurately, legibly and timely; ensures courteous and professional patient interactions.
• Stocks unit, completes routine checks, and performs safe operative nursing care as required.
