Qualifications

• 2+ years as broadcast line producer.
• Bachelor's degree in communication, journalism.
• 2+ years prior news editing experience.
• Familiar with Adobe Premiere and/or other editing programs.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with online publishing tools or CMS.
• Knowledge of AP style writing and guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Oversee production and content of newscasts on all platforms and shifts.
• Write news scripts, teases, headlines; edit video.
• Execute live shots and coordinate with anchors during live newscasts.
• Respond to breaking news with accuracy and urgency.
• Create videos for OTT, FAST and other platforms.
• Collaborate with reporters to deliver cross-platform stories.
• Write articles, publish videos, photos and podcasts on the website.
• Curate YouTube channels; manage livestreams.
• Stay informed on San Diego news market.
• Contribute story ideas and participate in editorial meetings.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
