Job summary

FOX 5 San Diego/KUSI News seeks a dynamic Border Reporter based in San Diego to produce daily stories focusing on the Southern border with Mexico. You will shoot, write, edit vosots and packages, and pilot original streaming shows for our CTV app.

You should have a BA/BS in journalism or related field, 5+ years in TV news, and bilingual English/Spanish preferred. The role requires strong storytelling, social engagement, and cross-platform delivery in a fast-paced market.

Qualifications

BA/BS in journalism, communications or related field.
Prefer 5+ years TV news reporting in a medium to large market.
Bilingual English/Spanish preferred (spoken and reading; Spanish writing proficient).

Responsibilities

Produce daily, original San Diego-focused content for broadcast, streaming and digital platforms.
Develop and deliver border-related stories with context, impact and solutions.
Produce and host weekly border-related show for the CTV streaming app.
Contribute to station website and create vertical content for mobile users.
Tailor stories for different screens to engage audiences on every platform.
Maintain an active social media presence to promote stories and generate ideas.
Build sources on both sides of the border for exclusive reporting.
Shoot, write and edit stories with accuracy and strong storytelling.
Collaborate with assignment desk, producers and photographers on live shots.
Ad-lib with anchors and guests; meet company standards for journalism.
Attend station partnerships in the community; perform other duties as assigned.
