Responsibilities

Perform a variety of radiographic procedures used in the diagnostic treatment of illness and injuries.

1. Position patients and select anatomic and technical parameters accurately.
2. Implement radiation protection and safety standards.
3. Prepare, perform, and assist the physician in special and advanced procedures.
4. Prepare and administer contrast media and medications within the accepted scope of practice and applicable regulations.
5. Ensure all activities comply with regulatory agency standards.
6. Ensure prompt submission of high-quality images and documents to PACS (image quality, correct lead markers, and patient data/history).
7. Assist in maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly department, including procedure rooms, storage areas, dressing rooms, and film storage areas.

Requirements

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 month (30 days) of hire or transfer date. American Heart Association or Red Cross accepted.
• Radiologic Technologist credentialed from the Indiana Medical Radiology Services Program within 6 months (180 days) of hire or transfer.
• One or more of the following within 6 months (180 days):
  • Cardiographic Tech credentialed from CCI.
  • Radiologic Technologist specializing in Radiography from ARRT.
  • Medical Sonographer from ARDMS.

Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent with 2 years of experience, or an associate's/technical degree, or 4 years of relevant experience.
