Job summary

Medical University of South Carolina is seeking a Dual Registered Technologist for Radiology, CT/MRI or Mammography. The role requires ARRT registration, SC SCRQSA licensure and a minimum of two years in multi-modality imaging.

You will perform high-quality studies and ensure patient safety within hospital protocols. Under supervision, you will contribute to imaging services across departments, maintaining radiation safety standards and accurate patient positioning.

Job Description/Summary:

The Dual Registered Technologist reports to the Imaging Director. Under general supervision, the Radiology and CT/MRI/Mammography Dual Registered Technologist performs high quality Radiology/CT/MRI or Mammography examinations in accordance with established protocols on patient populations ranging from neonate through geriatrics for interpretation by a physician.

Operates imaging equipment: Radiology and CT, MRI or Mammography, following radiation safety guidelines based on hospital policy and regulatory requirements. Provides radiographic support for all areas of the Hospital as needed. Position patients accurately for specific anatomic imaging using appropriate immobilization devices when required. Avoids excessive repeated examinations by following guidelines.

Minimum Training and Education: Education: Associate’s degree or equivalent Work Experience: 2-4 years. Graduate of an AMA approved school or training program, a 24-month approved School of Radiologic Technology, or other approved training (i.e. Military), AND be registered by the American Registry of Radiological Technologists and licensed by SC Radiation Quality Standards Association.

Support (ACLS) preferred.

Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations:

One year of experience as a registered Radiological Technologist and CT, MRI Tech or Mammography Tech. Certification is required in modality area post radiology certification. Licensure from the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association is required. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider. Education: Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program. Work Experience: At least 2 years of multi-modality experience. Registration/Certification: Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), ARRT Advanced Modality Registration, and licensed by the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association (SCRQSA). Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required. Skill Sets: Fully competent in advanced modality skill sets and flexible to rotate.
