Job Summary and Qualifications: As a Multi-modality Technologist you will be responsible for performing x-ray and CT exams in accordance with standards and practices set forth by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and Radiology Department policies and procedures. The Multi-modality Technologist demonstrates knowledge of human anatomy, disease processes and functions, patient care, positioning, principles of radiographic sciences, radiation protection, quality assurance, specialized techniques and adheres to Corporate Radiation Right policies.
Responsibilities
- Consistently produce scans of optimal diagnostic quality on patients ranging from neonatal to geriatric age groups.
- Follow established scanning and viewing protocols.
- Operate CT scanner (any model) and related equipment efficiently and effectively.
- Complete quality scans in a timely manner, organize and prioritize workflow to meet STAT and urgent demands while maintaining OP customer standards.
- Demonstrate proficiency in scanning trauma, acute and challenging patients; modify positioning and scanning factors when standard cannot be performed.
- Demonstrate knowledge of disease processes and produce studies that identify related anatomy.
- Demonstrate competence in using the power injector and verbalize limits of use.
- Scan patients of all ages, tailoring exams to age/size/weight/special needs.
- Complete required documentation on forms, logs, workstation and Meditech.
- Assist the Radiologist during invasive procedures; demonstrate knowledge of supplies required and ensure availability.
- Ensure CT and department equipment is functioning properly.
Qualifications
- Associate's Degree – required
- One year experience as a Radiology Technologist in an acute care setting
- One year experience performing CT procedures – required
- Graduate from an accredited approved program in Radiologic Technology
- Completion of courses in computed tomography (CT) and cross-sectional anatomy
- Current Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT) certification with Texas Medical Board (TMB)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification per St. David’s Healthcare policy
- Certified in Radiology by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT (R))
- Certified in CT by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT (CT))
