Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited educational program in radiography, radiation therapy, or nuclear medicine technology.
• Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Certification.
• ARRT (CT) certification required within 24 months of hire.
• ARRT (Rad Tech) certification.
• Ability to obtain BLS qualification during orientation period and maintain during employment.

Responsibilities

• Maintains knowledge of radiographic and CT Scan equipment.
• Prepares and positions patient for CT and X-Ray procedures per procedure manual.
• Adjusts technical factors according to patient and body part while minimizing radiation.
• Prepares and/or administers contrast media (oral, IV, rectal).
• Checks patient charts for labs and allergies before IV contrast.
• Implements radiation protection for patient, staff and self per safety standards.
