Job summary

Maimonides Medical Center in New York, NY, seeks a Radiologic Technologist to perform a variety of imaging studies with a strong emphasis on patient safety and quality radiographs. You will be the primary interface with patients and support staff to deliver imaging services efficiently.

Responsibilities include operating multiple imaging modalities, training colleagues and students, and ensuring compliance with ALARA and safety protocols as part of a busy radiology department.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an AMA approved School of Radiologic Technology is required.
• Current ARRT certification in at least one advanced modality (e.g. CT or MRI) is required.
• Current NYS license as a Registered Radiologic Technologist or eligible (must be obtained within 6 months).
• Current BCLS certification is required (within 6 months for new employees).

Responsibilities

• Performs high-quality radiographs for hospital and clinic patients (inpatient, emergency, outpatient, and portable exams).
• Maintains patient safety and minimizes hazards per ALARA principles.
• Trains students, new hires, and ancillary staff.
• Tracks patients using RIS/EMR and Transport Tracking systems.
• Transports patients to modality rooms as needed.
• Assists Radiologist during fluoroscopy procedures upon request.
• Operates X-ray equipment, fluoroscopy, mobile radiography, and at least one advanced modality.
• Interacts professionally with patients and staff; adheres to safety and infection control standards.
