Job summary

Toole Design in Cleveland, OH is seeking a Transportation Project Engineer I or II to lead roadway and multimodal projects from concept through construction, collaborating with engineers, planners, and designers to deliver safe, accessible streets.

The ideal candidate has a degree in civil engineering, a PE license (or ability to obtain within 6 months), 6+ years of roadway/highway experience (8+ for II), and proficiency with MicroStation or AutoCAD; this role offers a hybrid work model,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in civil engineering.
• PE license (or ability to obtain within 6 months).
• 6+ years of experience developing roadway/highway construction documents (8+ for Project Engineer II).
• Strong background in civil engineering (roadway and geometric design, 3D modeling, accessible design).
• Experience with signing and pavement marking, including MUTCD standards, as well as familiarity with PROWAG requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead interdisciplinary team to deliver multimodal transportation infrastructure.
• Develop construction documents and assist in bid package development.
• Perform design review and permits processes; support construction management.
• Collaborate with team to ensure high-quality project outcomes.
