Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Civil Engineering intern in Portland, ME for Summer 2027 to work alongside our experienced practitioners and clients on transportation projects. You will gain real‑world experience, build your network, and contribute to meaningful work that improves multimodal connections.

You’ll learn the project development process, assist with studies, documents, and field observations, and use tools such as AutoCAD/Civil 3D, ArcGIS, and the Microsoft Office suite.

Qualifications

• Must be a college student working towards a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• Previous internship or co‑op experience in similar type work or office environment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• May assist project teams and administrative staff by preparing or compiling studies, memos, reports, spreadsheets and graphs, drawings, calculations, research and other tasks in support of various transportation projects.
• May assist project managers with tasks designed to understand the project management process and internal frameworks.
• May include some fieldwork assisting with construction inspection and data gathering for various projects.
• Other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned to support the team.
• Participate in the broader Stantec internship program to learn more about Stantec, meet and engage with other interns and Stantec leaders, and take part in various workshops and speaker series.
