Job summary

TYLin is seeking a Transportation Engineer to join our Detroit-based team, focusing on multimodal transportation planning, analysis, and design. You will contribute to projects involving safety, operations, and complete streets, delivering designs that improve safety and comfort for all users while meeting technical and practical requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil or transportation engineering.
• Excel proficient.
• CAD experience with MicroStation preferred.
• Knowledge of MUTCD; NACTO/local standards a plus.
• Experience with roadway design elements: markings, signing, signals.
• Familiarity with traffic analysis software: Synchro/SimTraffic and/or HCS.
• PE licensure preferred or ability to obtain within 1 year.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Eligible to work in the US and able to commute to Detroit office at least 3 days/week.

Responsibilities

• Conduct site visits, field observations, and data collection.
• Perform traffic, pedestrian, parking, and safety analyses.
• Use traffic analysis software and innovative data analytics tools.
• Develop CAD-based design drawings of roadway geometry, signage, markings, and signals.
• Review transportation plans and drawings for operational effectiveness for all roadway users.
• Prepare high-quality graphics, data visualizations, and reports.
• Attend internal and external project meetings.
