Qualifications

• 5–7+ years of logistics experience in heavy industrial or large-scale transportation.
• Hands-on experience coordinating rail, truck and inland waterway barge.
• Proficiency with ERP systems and transportation management software.

Responsibilities

• Manage inbound and outbound transportation using rail, truck, and barge.
• Coordinate railcar scheduling, barge shipments, and over-the-road movements.
• Negotiate freight rates and manage carrier contracts; monitor KPIs and costs.
• Build relationships with railroad operators, barge companies, brokers, and providers.
• Optimize rail, port, and transloading operations to improve delivery and reduce costs.
• Oversee shipping docs: bills of lading, manifests, and related paperwork.
• Coordinate inventory movements between facilities, warehouses, yards and customers.
• Ensure compliance with DOT, FRA, and transportation regs.
• Use ERP and TMS to monitor shipments and analyze freight performance.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives in logistics efficiency and cost reduction.
