The role requires hands-on management of rail, truck, and inland waterway barge movements to optimize freight costs and ensure timely delivery. You will negotiate rates, manage carrier relationships, and coordinate with ERP/TMS systems while ensuring compliance with DOT/FRA regulations.

Qualifications

• 5–7+ years in logistics or transportation management.
• Hands-on multimodal coordination experience.
• Experience with railcar scheduling and inland waterways.
• Proven ability to negotiate freight contracts and manage carriers.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in supply chain/logistics.

Responsibilities

• Manage inbound and outbound transportation using rail, truck, and barge.
• Coordinate railcar scheduling, barge shipments, and over-the-road movements.
• Negotiate freight rates, contracts, and monitor costs and KPIs.
• Develop relationships with railroad operators, barge companies, brokers.
• Optimize operations to improve delivery performance and reduce costs.
• Oversee shipping documentation including bills of lading and manifests.
• Coordinate inventory movements between facilities and customer locations.
• Ensure DOT, FRA, and transportation regulations compliance.
• Utilize ERP and TMS to monitor shipments and analyze freight performance.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives in logistics efficiency.
