Job summary

MDS Staffing seeks an experienced Logistics Manager to oversee multimodal transportation operations in Little Rock, AR. You will manage rail, truck, and barge movements, optimize costs, and drive on‑time delivery across facilities and customers.

You will negotiate freight rates, monitor KPIs, and ensure compliance with DOT and FRA regulations while leveraging ERP and TMS systems to improve performance.

Qualifications

• 5–7+ years in logistics or multimodal transportation (rail, barge, truck).
• Experience coordinating railcar scheduling and barge shipments.
• Experience negotiating freight contracts and managing carrier relationships.
• Proficiency with ERP and transportation management software.
• Strong analytical, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Oversee inbound and outbound transportation using rail, truck, and barge.
• Coordinate railcar scheduling, barge shipments, and over‑the‑road freight movements.
• Negotiate freight rates and manage carrier contracts; monitor KPIs and costs.
• Develop relationships with railroad operators, barge companies, brokers, and providers.
• Optimize rail, port, and transloading operations to improve delivery and reduce costs.
• Oversee shipping documentation including bills of lading and manifests.
• Coordinate inventory movements between facilities, warehouses, yards, and customers.
• Ensure compliance with DOT, FRA, and transportation regulations.
• Utilize ERP and TMS to monitor shipments and analyze freight performance.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives for logistics efficiency and cost reduction.
