Under the general lead of the Coordinator of Multimedia Technologies, the Multimedia Specialist is responsible for providing multimedia related services to over 300 classrooms, and some 100 conference rooms and other venues across 60 buildings on the UCM Campus. The position also supports the University of Central Missouri's well-established online learning program. More specifically, the position will: Install and support audio/visual and classroom technologies; Provide consultation for deployment projects and other multimedia related efforts; Train end-users on the use of multimedia technology and control systems; Prepare and maintain documentation.
Managing and expanding audio/visual operational activities: - 70%
- Install, configure, support and troubleshoot audio/video components including but not limited to, speakers, microphones, cameras, projectors, signal management/monitoring gear and SIP/VoIP collaboration endpoints and all infrastructure components
- Support of Christie, Crestron, Cisco, commercial/event/learning A/V products and SIP/IP interactive technologies;
- Implementing and administrating common audio/visual and interactive TCP/IP and HDBaseT-based services, including HDMI, VGA, DHCP, HTTP, etc.;
- Proactively develop strategies to promptly resolve issues regarding infrastructure health and operational readiness;
- Identify, research, and propose new technologies, services, and/or products to enhance the functionality, and/or cost effectiveness;
- Perform monitoring/analysis on operating system functionality and use tools associated with audio/video quality/performance and network performance.
Leading, guiding and developing audio-visual technology-related projects and services: - 20%
- Collaborate with senior level university stakeholders and vendors on projects and university/division-wide initiatives;
- Manage operational area projects including:
- Completion of standard project plan documentation:
- Development and management of project schedule and resources; and,
- Regular project status reporting regarding schedule, budget, and expected results.
- Work independently and with team members to improve the university AV infrastructure and enterprise systems in order to provide maximum performance and reliability.
Maintaining an accurate inventory and documentation of all UCM-owned technology devices and software: - 10%
- Develop and establish audio/video and interactive infrastructure standards and procedures.
- Revise and/or develop university audio/visual processes/procedures for the effective and proper usage of technologies;
- Ensure thorough research, development, and communication regarding the introduction of new equipment, software or services;
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Technology, Educational Technology, Instructional Technology or related field required.
- Education may be substituted for experience or experience may be substituted for education based on the following: AA = 2 years experience; BA/BS = 4 years experience; MA/MS = 6 years experience.
Experience:
- Two years’ experience in a technical environment required.
- One year experience with multimedia or audio-visual systems preferred.

This role requires full-time, on-site work at our Warrensburg, Missouri campus and is not eligible for full-time remote work. The selected candidate will be required to work on-site in Warrensburg, Missouri each day.
