Job summary

The University of Central Missouri (UCM) seeks a Multimedia Specialist to provide multimedia services across 60 buildings, 300 classrooms, and 100 conference rooms. You will install, support, and train end-users on AV technologies, document procedures, and help advance the university's online learning program.

Responsibilities span maintaining AV infrastructure health, collaborating with vendors, and leading projects while ensuring reliable operations across campus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Technology, Educational Technology, Instructional Technology or related field required.
• Education may be substituted for experience; AA = 2 years, BA/BS = 4 years, MA/MS = 6 years.
• Two years’ experience in a technical environment required.
• One year experience with multimedia or audio-visual systems preferred.
• Lifting (weight) – 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, support and troubleshoot audio/video components including speakers, microphones, cameras, projectors, signal management/monitoring gear and SIP/VoIP collaboration endpoints.
• Support Christie, Crestron, Cisco, commercial/event/learning A/V products and SIP/IP interactive technologies.
• Implement TCP/IP and HDBaseT-based services (HDMI, VGA, DHCP, HTTP, etc.).
• Proactively develop strategies to resolve infrastructure health and operational readiness issues.
• Identify, research, and propose new technologies, services, and/or products to enhance functionality or cost effectiveness.
• Monitor operating system functionality and use tools for AV quality/performance and network performance.
• Collaborate with stakeholders on projects; manage project plans, schedules, resources, and status reporting.
• Work independently and with teams to improve AV infrastructure and enterprise systems for reliability.
• Maintain inventory and documentation of UCM-owned equipment and software.
