Position Summary

The Multimedia Production Associate provides multimedia production, instructional media, and technology support for traditional, online, blended, and technology-enhanced learning environments, as well as University promotional and institutional initiatives. The Associate supports the creation and delivery of multimedia content across the full content lifecycle, including project preparation, recording, editing, quality assurance, publishing, platform delivery, and content management. The position uses established production technologies as well as approved AI-assisted tools and workflows to support efficient, accessible, and high-quality content development and delivery. The Associate works with faculty and staff to gather basic project requirements, understand the intended audience and instructional context, and apply established multimedia approaches and University-supported technologies. The position develops foundational knowledge of instructional design, educational technology, accessibility, learning management systems, responsible AI use, and online and adult learning so that multimedia and technology decisions are informed by how learners will ultimately use the content. The position also supports instructional‑media platforms, content‑delivery technologies, AI-enabled multimedia capabilities, and related workflows. The Associate works collaboratively with Learning Technologies, Learning Spaces, Accessibility, Online Programs, and other University partners.

Operational Excellence & Content Delivery

• Provides multimedia production, instructional-media, and technology support for traditional, online, blended, and technology‑enhanced learning environments, as well as University promotional and institutional initiatives.
• Working under the guidance of Multimedia Production Specialists and departmental leadership, the Associate supports the creation and delivery of multimedia content across the full content lifecycle, including project preparation, recording, editing, quality assurance, publishing, platform delivery, and content management.
• Works with faculty and staff to gather basic project requirements, understand the intended audience and instructional context, and apply established multimedia approaches and University-supported technologies.
• Develops foundational knowledge of instructional design, educational technology, accessibility, learning management systems, and online and adult learning.
• Supports instructional‑media and artificial intelligence (AI) platforms, content‑delivery technologies, and related workflows, working collaboratively with Learning Technologies, Learning Spaces, Accessibility, Online Programs, and other University partners.
• Use approved AI‑assisted technologies for defined multimedia, content‑development, and operational activities to help improve outcomes for faculty and students.

Customer Support & Consultation

• Provide first‑line support and guidance to faculty and staff regarding multimedia production, AI, instructional media, and established digital‑content solutions.
• Gather basic project requirements, including audience, purpose, intended learning environment, delivery requirements, timing, and desired outcomes.
• Assist faculty and staff in selecting from established multimedia production and delivery approaches based on identified needs.
• Help faculty and staff understand available options for studio production, classroom capture, self‑recording, asynchronous media, enhanced media, and other supported approaches.
• Support users with routine recording, uploading, editing, publishing, sharing, permissions, and media‑management workflows.
• Troubleshoot routine production, playback, publishing, access, and delivery issues using established procedures.
• Recognize when a request requires broader expertise in instructional design, learning technologies, accessibility, platform administration, learning spaces, or another technical area and coordinate escalation or referral to the appropriate partner.
• Maintain accurate project and service documentation, and clearly communicate requirements, status, next steps, and known issues.
• Support faculty and staff in becoming increasingly confident and self‑sufficient users of established multimedia and AI technologies and workflows.
• Participate in basic demonstrations, orientations, workshops, and other user‑education activities.

Collaboration, Training & Knowledge Management

• Support routine operation and use of instructional‑media platforms and other University‑supported content‑delivery technologies.
• Support established workflows involving instructional‑media platforms such as Mediasite, Vimeo, Frame.io, and other approved technologies.
• Assist with testing multimedia workflows across production systems, instructional‑media platforms, and learning‑management environments.
• Participate in semester‑readiness, platform‑readiness, content management, and instructional media operational activities.
• Assist with testing and evaluation of new multimedia, educational, interactive, and emerging technologies using established evaluation criteria.
• Support implementation of approved tools, pilots, integrations, and service improvements under guidance.
• Participate in cross‑training and collaborative activities with Learning Technologies, Learning Spaces, Online Programs, Accessibility, and other University partners.
• Develop foundational understanding of how multimedia content moves from creation through instructional‑media platforms and into learning management systems and other supported learning environments.
• Maintain awareness of emerging multimedia, educational, interactive, and content‑delivery technologies.

• Perform other duties as assigned in support of departmental objectives.
• Participate in special projects, committees, or working groups as assigned.
• Assist with pilot initiatives or emerging technology evaluations.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Coursework, academic projects, certifications, concentrations, or technical training in multimedia production, instructional design, educational technology, learning experience design, digital media, communications, or related disciplines are beneficial.

Work Experience

• 0-2 years of relevant experience in multimedia production, digital media, educational technology, instructional media, communications, or a related field.
• Academic projects, internships, student employment, freelance work, or other hands‑on experiences demonstrating foundational skills in multimedia content creation and digital media production are beneficial.
• Exposure to multimedia development tools, digital content platforms, video, audio, graphic design, or visual storytelling technologies is beneficial.
• Exposure to supporting users, faculty, instructors, trainers, subject matter experts, or content creators in the development or delivery of digital content is beneficial.
• Experience or exposure to managing multiple assignments, meeting deadlines, and balancing competing priorities in a collaborative environment is beneficial.
