Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Broadcast Journalism or related field, or equivalent
• Fluency in English with excellent written and verbal communication
• Minimum two years' experience in news reporting (depends on market size)
• Superior on-air presence and professional presentation
• Proficiency with general office equipment and newsroom tools
• Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize tasks and handle multiple assignments

Responsibilities

• Reports stories for broadcast, describing background and details of events
• Arranges interviews with people who can provide information
• Reviews copy for errors and ensures adherence to editorial style
• Determines story emphasis, length and format and organizes material accordingly
• Researches background information to provide complete and accurate reporting
• Pitches stories to editors and producers relevant to the local community
• Receives assignments and evaluates leads to develop story ideas
• Shoots and edits news events and reports for all platforms
• Produces and presents reports that meet company standards for integrity and quality
• Writes stories for web and eMedia platforms
• Interacts with viewers on social media and feeds content
• Performs special projects as assigned
