WVTM in Birmingham, AL, is seeking a Multimedia Journalist to identify compelling story ideas, shoot and edit video news packages, and present live reports. The candidate will report to the Assistant News Director and work across platforms, including online.

A passion for storytelling and the ability to connect with viewers are essential. The role requires professional or schooling experience in television news reporting, photography and editing, with a proven ability to work under time

Qualifications

• Experience in television news reporting, photography and editing.
• Creative writer and editor capable of compelling storytelling.
• Ability to connect with viewers with authentic reporting.

Responsibilities

• Identify important story ideas and shoot/ edit video news packages.
• Deliver reports live and on-air across platforms.
• Gather information for stories for newscasts including mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Collaborate with teammates on packages, reports and documentaries.
• Develop sources and produce content for online and all digital platforms.
• Shoot live shots and track news stories.
