Job summary

WVTM in Birmingham, AL is seeking a Multimedia Journalist to identify story ideas, shoot and edit video packages, and present live reports. The role requires strong storytelling, authenticity, and the ability to deliver compelling content across TV and digital platforms.

The candidate will report to the Assistant News Director and may work mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays depending on news coverage needs. Experience in television news reporting and editing is essential.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in television news reporting.
• Creative writer who can edit compelling packages.
• Ability to deliver authentic reporting under deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Gather information for stories and live reports for newscasts.
• Cover breaking news, weather and sports.
• Assemble high-quality news packages.
• Collaborate with reporters on packages and documentaries.
• Develop sources and create stories for on-air and digital platforms.
• Shoot live shots and track news stories.
