Job summary

Sinclair Broadcast Group’s WJAR, Southern New England’s News Leader, seeks a Multimedia Journalist to report, shoot and edit stories across TV and digital platforms. You will generate enterprising stories, cultivate contacts, and create content daily for on-air, web and mobile distribution.

The role requires at least 2 years of reporting experience, proficiency with live shots, and a willingness to work nights and weekends, with a valid driver’s license and strong technical skills driving daily

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years reporting experience
• Experience with live shots required
• Live-U experience a plus
• Available to work nights and weekends
• Must maintain a valid license and a good driving record

Responsibilities

• Report, shoot and edit news stories for multiple platforms including TV, internet and mobile
• Develop enterprising story ideas and build a network of contacts
• Produce daily content for television and digital platforms
• Work independently and as part of a news team on breaking and planned coverage

WJAR, Southern New England’s News Leader, has an exciting opportunity for a Multimedia Journalist! Your responsibilities as an MMJ will include reporting, shooting and editing news stories, enterprising story ideas, developing contacts, as well as other responsibilities as assigned. You will be expected to produce daily content on a variety of platforms including the internet, social networking sites and mobile phones, in addition to television.

• Sharp news judgment
• The ability to tell an NPPA style story
• Excellent technical skills
• The ability to work well independently
• Must have and maintain a valid license and a good driving record

Requirements and Qualifications:

• A minimum of 2 years reporting experience is required
• Experience with live shots is required
• Experience with Live-U is a plus
• Must be available to work nights and weekends
