Job summary

WKBT News 8 Now is seeking an experienced Multimedia Journalist to join our award-winning newsroom in western Wisconsin, where you will shoot, write and edit stories for television and digital platforms, owning the big story each day.

Collaborate with producers, assignment editors and anchors, develop long-form reports for digital audiences, and build relationships with newsmakers and residents while delivering compelling coverage across multiple channels.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in journalism or related field.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including excellent news writing and visual storytelling.
• Demonstrated proficiency with digital video cameras, commercial video editing software, and social media platforms.
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays if needed.
• Ability to lift 30 lbs. of gear and to sit, walk, or stand for long periods of time.
• Valid Driver’s License and good driving record.

The ideal candidate will be a self‑starter with a proven ability to find, create and deliver engaging news content across platforms. We’re looking for someone who can own the big story each day, whether working as a team with one of our award‑winning photojournalists, or individually, shooting, writing and editing stories for daily newscasts as well as our digital and social audiences.
