Job summary

WKBT, News 8 Now, in western Wisconsin, seeks an experienced Multimedia Journalist to join our award-winning newsroom. You will own the big story, shoot, write and edit for daily newscasts as well as digital and social audiences.

You will collaborate with producers and anchors, develop long-form reports for digital platforms, and connect with newsmakers and residents across the La Crosse area.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in journalism or related field.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including excellent news writing and visual storytelling.
• Demonstrated proficiency with digital video cameras, commercial video editing software, and social media platforms.
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays if needed.
• Ability to lift 30 lbs. of gear and to sit, walk, or stand for long periods of time.
• Valid Driver’s License and good driving record.

The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with a proven ability to find, create and deliver engaging news content across platforms. We’re looking for someone who can own the big story each day, whether working as a team with one of our award-winning photojournalists, or individually, shooting, writing and editing stories for daily newscasts as well as our digital and social audiences.
