• Self-motivated to find stories and anchor newscasts for multiple markets.
• Strong social media skills across Facebook, X, and Instagram.
• Willing to work nights, holidays, and weekends.
• Strong on-air presence and authority when presenting newscasts.
• Excellent writing and editing abilities; strong grammar.
• Strong time management and ability to prioritize deadlines.
• Knowledge of local, regional, and national trends.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Proficient in audio production and broadcast systems.
• 3+ years experience in on-air journalism in smaller markets or college stations.
• 4-year college degree preferred in Communications or Journalism.

Responsibilities

• Anchor newscasts for multiple markets.
• Write clear, concise news copy.
• Produce, edit and write content for 24/7 Newswire.
• Post news and video content to newsroom social media platforms.
• Gather audio from press conferences, live events and partner TV stations.
• Produce short-form reports (voicers/wraps) for anchors on the following shift.
• May be called on to anchor breaking news reports as needed.
• General newsroom responsibilities and other duties as assigned.
