Job summary

The Officer/Editor at the OAS Editorial Services Unit is responsible for editing Minutes and related documents to produce accurate records. Responsibilities include reviewing content, training junior editors, and supporting administrative tasks to keep the unit running smoothly.

Essential qualifications require a Bachelor’s degree in communication or a related field with multiple years of editorial experience, and proficiency in at least two official languages. A Master’s degree is desirable.

Qualifications

  • Essential: First University Degree (Bachelor’s) in Communication, languages, journalism, humanities or related area and 4 years of relevant experience OR Advanced University Degree (Master’s) with 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Desirable: Knowledge of the OAS mandate and project oversight is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in at least two official languages and ability to pass DHR examinations.

Responsibilities

  • Edit verbatim Minutes and summary minutes to produce a clear, accurate permanent record within deadlines.
  • Edit other OAS documents and publications as needed.
  • Review the work of editors, provide training on editorial style, and respond to queries.
  • Assist in administrative tasks to expedite unit work.
  • Participate in ongoing modernization of the Editorial Services Unit.
