Job summary

Aerotek in Chicago Heights, IL is looking for a General Production Worker to support multiple lines in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The role involves prep work, weighing products, setting up lines, packaging, labeling, and basic quality checks on a contract-to-hire basis.

The position is onsite with 1st shift (Mon-Fri 7:30 am–4:00 pm) and potential overtime; PPE and steel-toed boots are required. Training is provided, with opportunities to progress toward an operator role.

Qualifications

• Experience in manufacturing, particularly with chemicals, food, or pharmaceuticals.
• Experience working around machinery.
• Desire to progress to an operator role.
• Proficiency in weighing, staging, and handling chemicals.
• Strong mechanical inclination.

Responsibilities

• Assist operators with prep work and batch work on multiple lines.
• Perform physical tasks such as weighing products, setting up lines, and staging products.
• Make and measure batches, weigh out liquid products, and document all orders.
• Calculate batch sizes and work with drums and totes for product filling.
• Lift and stage boxes, palletize and wrap boxes and containers.
• Perform quality inspections by counting, sorting, and sizing products.
• Place tags and labels on products and boxes.
• Pull cases off the line and stack them on pallets.
• Wrap and stage cases and boxes.
• Engage in housekeeping duties, including sweeping, mopping, and taking out trash.
• Flexibly move between packaging and formulation tasks as needed.
