Job summary

The Art Institute of Chicago is seeking a part-time RLC Facilitator to support the Art Exchange, guiding families and multigenerational visitors in welcoming, inclusive artmaking experiences.

The role involves space maintenance, staff coordination, and program development within the Ryan Learning Center. Two years’ experience with students or families is preferred, with strong communication and teamwork skills. Spanish is a plus.

Qualifications

• Two years’ experience with students, families, or in museums preferred.
• Emerging knowledge of early learning and curriculum design for drop-in, multigenerational programs.

Responsibilities

• 2-3 shifts per week in the Art Exchange; lead daily maintenance and guidance for engagements.
• Supports maintenance of Creative Spaces installations (Trott Family Gallery, Multisensory Gallery, McCormick Gallery, Art Exchange).
• Participates in professional development and community-building to sustain current teaching practices.
• Coaches volunteers and interns as needed.
• Contributes to development of artmaking experiences by testing and providing input to staff.
• Implements formal evaluation and reports issues with visitor experience.
• Inventories, prepares, stocks, and organizes supplies for Art Exchange and events.
• Facilitates or supports events in galleries or offsite locations.
• Collaborates with departments to coordinate smooth operation and attendance reporting.
