Job summary

California Institute of Technology seeks regular group fitness instructors for its recreation program in Pasadena. Instructors will teach a variety of cardiovascular, strength, dance, Pilates, and flexibility formats to students, staff, and community members, maintaining a safe, engaging class environment.

Responsibilities include proper technique demonstration, cueing, warm-ups/cool-downs, and attending mandatory meetings.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of teaching experience.
• Must possess or acquire current CPR/AED certification.
• Ability to work with students, staff, faculty, alumni and community.
• Appreciation for individual uniqueness and diversity.
• Must lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Teach assigned classes in specified formats.
• Maintain a safe and enjoyable class environment.
• Demonstrate proper techniques, cueing, tempo, and choreography.
• Instruct participants on exercises and proper form.
• Keep records and attend scheduled sessions and meetings.
