Job summary

Cortland is seeking a Floating Service Technician to support maintenance across Hilliard/Dublin properties. You will perform routine repairs, assist with unit turnovers, and help maintain community spaces while delivering friendly, high-quality service.

Qualifications

• 1–2+ years of maintenance, facilities, or related work preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Basic knowledge of household repairs and use of hand tools (or willingness to learn).
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or within a team.
• Strong customer-service skills and a professional attitude.
• Ability to lift, carry, climb ladders, and work in various indoor/outdoor conditions.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and basic repairs, including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, and general apartment upkeep.
• Complete make-ready tasks to ensure vacant units are clean, functional, and ready for new residents.
• Maintain overall property appearance, including daily ground upkeep and trash removal.
• Respond to resident service requests promptly, professionally, and with a focus on customer satisfaction.
• Assist with preventative maintenance and seasonal projects assigned.
• Report safety hazards, recurring issues, or larger maintenance needs to your supervisor.
