Job summary

Fannie Mae is seeking a Multifamily Watchlist Management Senior Asset Manager — Lead Associate to oversee risk, planning and reporting for a portfolio of Watchlist loans. You will coordinate with Servicers and internal teams to drive portfolio insights and strategic actions.

The role emphasizes independent work with collaboration across the Watchlist Management team, strong analytical skills, and experience in CRE asset management. Hybrid eligibility is noted with onsite expectation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field.
  • 4+ years of Multifamily/Commercial Real Estate experience, preferably in Asset Management or Underwriting.
  • Experience analyzing troubled multifamily or CRE assets and reviewing loan documents.

Responsibilities

  • Support portfolio vision and strategic objectives.
  • Evaluate and communicate portfolio risk for Watchlist loans.
  • Engage with Servicers to gather information and assess collateral performance.
  • Understand Sponsors’ and Servicers’ risk management strategies.
  • Lead portfolio progress analysis and report performance to stakeholders.
  • Provide Servicer feedback to internal teams and assist with special projects.

Join Fannie Mae to grow your career and help people find a place to call home.Job DescriptionAs a valued colleague on our Multifamily Watchlist Management team, you will provide expert advice on, and manage the administration, strategic planning, risk management and reporting of an assigned portfolio.THE IMPACT YOU WILL MAKEThe Multifamily Senior Asset Manager - Lead Associate, Watchlist Management role will offer you the flexibility to make each day your own, while working alongside people who care so that you can deliver on the following responsibilities:Support a portfolio's vision and strategic objectives.Evaluate, document, and communicate risk of a portfolio of assigned Watchlist loans, while complying with governance and controls.Engage with internal and external stakeholders (i.e. Servicers) to obtain information to support the analysis of the performance of the underlying collateral and Sponsor.Understand the Sponsors’ and Servicers’ risk management strategies and effectiveness.Lead portfolio progress analysis and enact changes, along with reporting portfolio performance to key stakeholders.Provide Servicer feedback to the Servicer and internal stakeholders.Assist with special projects as assigned.THE EXPERIENCE YOU BRING TO THE TEAMMinimum Required Experience4 years of Multifamily or Commercial Real Estate experience, preferably in Asset Management or Underwriting.Prior experience conducting detailed analysis of troubled multifamily or commercial real estate assets including reviewing loan agreements and related loan documents and Servicer reporting deliverables (i.e. property financials, inspections, late payments).Strong analytical and financial analysis skills.Ability to assess risks and their impacts to the property’s risk rating. Ability to assess and understand the Sponsors’ or Servicers’ risk mitigation strategies.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Experience developing presentations and reports for internal stakeholders.Ability to work independently, but also collaboratively across the Watchlist Management team and other teams, when needed.Strong multi-tasking skills.Strong relationship management skills.Skilled in Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Teams).Demonstrates curiosity and adaptability by learning and responsibly applying new techniques, including artificial intelligence, to reimagine how we work.Desired ExperienceBachelor’s degree or equivalentMultifamily Risk - Asset Management - Lead Associate#LI-NL1 - HybridQualificationsEducation: Bachelor's Level Degree (Required)The future is what you make it to be.
