Job summary

Stoa Group in Carolina, NC, seeks a full-time Quality Control Technician to oversee final inspections of mechanical, electrical, structural, and finish trades. You will use inspection checklists, prepare post-inspection reports, and support QA processes to ensure standards are met across projects.

The role requires 1–5 years in residential construction, ability to work independently, strong organization, travel up to 90%, and a reliable vehicle.

Qualifications

  • 70-90% travel during peak times.
  • Can lift up to 30 lbs and stand/walk long periods.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct inspections upon project completion using QC checklists.
  • Prepare post-inspection reports documenting activities and observations.
  • Complete QA documents as required by the QA program.
  • Compile data for QC managers and field teams.
  • Act as internal customer to ensure quality and functionality.
  • Manage scheduling of QC visits based on project timelines.
  • Participate in progress meetings in the assigned area.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by QA Manager.

What you'll do
  • Conducts inspections upon building/project completion and uses inspection checklists as a tool for monitoring compliance.
  • Prepare post-inspection reports, including documentation of QC inspection activities and observations.
  • Completes other Quality Assurance documents and reports as required by the Stoa QA program
  • Compile data into useful feedback tools for QC Managers, trades, field teams, and vendor partners.
  • Acts as an "internal customer" prior to the Community Management team to ensure high levels of quality and functionality are delivered.
  • Manage your schedule between active jobs and plan QC visits based on the project schedule accordingly.
  • Participate in preparatory meetings and regular progress meetings in the assigned area.
  • Perform other duties as specified by QA Manager.
Job Requirements & Skills
  • 1-5 years of experience in residential construction; other pertinent work experience will be considered. Completed coursework in construction management accepted in lieu of experience
  • Ability to work independently without supervision in a deadline-driven environment
  • High level of organization skills and acute attention to detail
  • Current driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to haul tool bag of equipment and small ladder in vehicle
  • The position requires 70-80% travel but may go up to 90% during peak times.
  • Ability to lift equipment weighing up to 30 lbs and to stand and walk for long periods of time.
