Job summary

MPI is seeking a Project Executive to lead and grow its Multifamily Construction division in the Midwest. The role focuses on strategic oversight across multiple projects, mentoring Project Managers, and driving profitability and client satisfaction.

Qualified candidates will have 10+ years with a commercial general contractor, and a track record of overseeing large programs, budgeting, and operations. This is a senior leadership position with significant growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience with a commercial General Contractor.
• Experience in a senior leadership role such as Project Executive, Operations Manager, or Senior PM.

Responsibilities

• Provide executive oversight for multiple multifamily construction projects simultaneously.
• Lead, mentor, and develop Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers, and project teams.
• Manage client relationships and act as a trusted advisor throughout the project lifecycle.
• Drive project performance related to schedule, budget, quality, safety, and client satisfaction.
• Oversee project financials, forecasting, and portfolio profitability.
• Participate in business development and client acquisition.
• Collaborate with preconstruction teams during pursuit and planning phases.
• Review and approve project budgets, schedules, and execution plans.
• Identify project risks and implement proactive solutions.
• Support contract negotiations, change management, and dispute resolution as needed.
• Work with leadership to execute operational and growth initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide executive oversight for multiple multifamily construction projects simultaneously
• Lead, mentor, and develop Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers, and project teams
• Manage client relationships and serve as a trusted advisor throughout the project lifecycle
• Drive project performance related to schedule, budget, quality, safety, and client satisfaction
• Oversee project financials, forecasting, and overall portfolio profitability
• Participate in business development efforts and support new client acquisition
• Collaborate with preconstruction teams during project pursuit and planning phases
• Review and approve project budgets, schedules, and strategic execution plans
• Identify project risks and proactively implement solutions
• Support contract negotiations, change management, and dispute resolution when necessary
• Work closely with company leadership to execute operational and growth initiatives
• Promote a culture of teamwork, accountability, and operational excellence
  

Profile

Qualifications:

• 10+ years of experience with a commercial General Contractor
• Experience as a Senior Project Manager, Operations Manager, Project Executive, or similar leadership role
• Significant multifamily construction experience
• Proven ability to oversee multiple projects and project teams concurrently
• Strong financial management, forecasting, and budgeting skills
• Excellent client-facing communication and relationship-building abilities
• Experience leading large project teams and mentoring developing professionals
• Strong understanding of preconstruction, project execution, and operational best practices
• Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
