Job summary

UFP Site Built in San Antonio, TX seeks a Multifamily Estimator to produce detailed material estimates from drawings for prefabricated wood and related products, guiding purchasing and production teams.

You will prepare proposals, coordinate with shipping, field take-offs, and collaborate with estimators and project management to meet deadlines, using Planswift or Excel and reading architectural drawings.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in multi-family/commercial estimating.
• Proficiency in hand take-offs of materials.
• Experience reading architectural and engineered drawings.
• Framing experience in construction preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide detailed material estimates from drawings for purchasing and field construction.
• Estimate and submit proposals for approval.
• Coordinate project at various stages with shipping lists, take-offs, and construction support.
• Communicate effectively with all organizational levels.
• Provide problem-solving solutions using building codes and product information.
• Assist other estimators and work with PM to meet deadlines.
• Compile legible quotes for client submissions.

UFP Site Built is the leader in designing and manufacturing value-added wood and non-wood products for the construction industry. We offer a wide variety of wood structural components, aluminum decks and rails, and light gauge steel structural components.

The Multifamily Estimator is responsible for estimating the detailed list of materials, (Prefabricated wood roof and floor trusses, engineered wood products, wall panels, and hardware) for purchasing and production, according to architectural plans and engineered drawings.

Preferred onsite in San Antonio, TX

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Provides a detailed list of material estimates from drawings for purchasing and field construction
• Estimates and submits proposals for approval
• Assists coordinating the project at various stages with shipping lists, field support take offs, and construction
• Communicates effectively with all organizational levels
• Provides problem-solving solutions using Building Codes and product information
• Assist other estimators
• Works with estimating & Project Management to complete assignments in a timely manner
• Compile legible quotes for submission to client
• Performs other duties as required

Knowledge

• 3-5 Years of Experience with Multi-family / Commercial estimating required
• Proficiency in hand done material take-offs
• Working knowledge and experience using Planswift or excel preferred
• Working knowledge and experience reading architectural and engineered drawings
• Construction experience with hands on framing experience preferred

• Proficiency in the use of the English language in reading, writing and speaking

• Ability to sit at a desk for prolonged periods of time, be mobile in the work environment, and work hours mandated by management
• Ability to pass a drug test
