Job summary

DHI Communities, a division of D.R. Horton, Inc., is seeking a Development Associate - Multifamily in the Operations Department to support direct development of projects.

You will underwrite opportunities, prepare pro-formas, and coordinate with construction and third-party consultants to drive timelines and budgets. Ideal candidates have a Finance/Accounting background with 3–5 years of related experience, strong Excel modeling skills, and familiarity with Adobe and MS Office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related degree.
• Three to five years related experience and/or training.
• Proficient in advanced Excel financial modeling.
• Proficient with Adobe and MS Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Source and underwrite development opportunities.
• Prepare pro-formas and financial projections for developments.
• Conduct field investigations including rent studies and neighborhood analysis.
• Manage zoning, entitlement, and permitting activities.
• Perform underwriting analysis of market information and costs.
• Establish project timelines and spending forecasts.
• Coordinate with construction personnel to meet budget/timing targets.
• Support development team in disposition processes and investment packaging.
