Job summary

Jobot seeks a Junior Project Manager in Chicago to support a growing General Contractor with multifamily and residential projects. This permanent role offers growth potential, autonomy, and exposure to high-profile developments across markets.

You will coordinate planning, budgeting, and risk management while collaborating with architects, engineers, and stakeholders to keep projects on schedule and within budget. Competitive compensation accompanies a robust benefits package.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in the construction industry, specifically multifamily housing projects.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing construction projects from start to finish.
  • Strong knowledge of construction processes, means and methods, materials, and quality standards.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire team members.
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to convey project expectations to team members and stakeholders.
  • Proficient in project management software and standard office software (MS Office, Excel).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • PMP or equivalent Project Management certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and oversee the planning, implementation, and tracking of construction projects from start to finish.
  • Develop detailed project plans, including schedule, budget, and resources.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for project-related issues and resolutions.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other construction professionals to meet goals.
  • Monitor project progress and adjust as necessary to ensure successful completion.
  • Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget and meet quality standards.
  • Prepare and present project updates and progress reports to stakeholders.
  • Foster relationships with clients, vendors, and internal teams for smooth operations.
  • Adhere to industry standards, regulations, and legal requirements while managing projects.
  • Contribute to risk management including identification, analysis, and mitigation of risks.
